Ännu en gammal sång från konungariket Byrålådan. Från 85. Den bygger på Genesis' låt Blood On The Rooftops i sin struktur. Spelades in live på Café Blecktornet 6/3-86.

BLASPHEMERS IN THE BACKYARD

That TV makes me dull,
it just sets my soul and mind in confusion.
On sunday afternoons,
inside their livingrooms they watch the news.

Western movies, violent movies,
John Wayne is in for the kill.
When he's shootin' the bullet's flyin',
and i'm sure that blood will spill.

Let's skip the news darlin' (I'll go and make some tea)
The wars in Lebanon darlin' (I don't wanna see)
I don't know the meaning of it,
but I hope they'll do.

Cause the evil one is out,
is out to destroy the love and the joy.
The world is his toy.

Comix in magazines,
fairytales with kings and queens
still facinates me.
I hear a ricochette in my TV-set,
there's always wapons.
Before you'll see the dawn
you're gonna weep and moan.
I hope you'll know it?

Why do I still pay the licence bill
to see people smashed at the wall?
JR Ewings in gross doings,
a world that's living in sin.

Blasphemers in the backyard – New York city light.
The streets of Barcelona – oil sheiks in Kuweit.
Taken by the undertow in lifes details everyday.

The fallen one is out,
is out to deceive,
devastate and control.

So let's skip the news darlin' (I'll go and make that tea)
But the hope that is in us darlin' (I think they wanna see)
Blasphemers in the backyard, they're out for you and me.

They hate our faith - Oh Lord.
They mix truth with lies
and seems to be wise.
It's the devils disguise.

Rhymes, as in "extraordinary functional". The content tells me likewise.
