For the most part,
I over-estimate my contemporaries,
friends & foes,
who almost exclusively show a gluey inertia,
a circling immobility;
a recurring “why?” for each and every suggestion,
or a deep silence in face of everything they can't grasp;
for everything their set ways won't recognize

I step forward and shake their mindsets
like you shake a fruit tree,
but, unlike the tree, dropping fruits,
their minds seldom produce any thinking
