"Orphan Girl" - Emmylou Harris https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzvrYR1Bt20

The Northern Waters

I watch the sky
as I climb the sea
I‘ll sever and I’ll bring
all the notes, when I sing
a calling to your name
when we fall beneath
these trashing waves
ripping torment in our eyes
a closing rhyme
a fading light
in just the sound of your voice

Oh I've been known
to fits of rage
for the pounding
of a human heart
where love whilst
not from each other
stand to fall apart

when she calls me
to her I’ll bring
all the words I gather
all the notes once filled
to the rim with longing
to the halls of hell
I will go well
prepared to sing

turned around in many a way
I ‘e been aloft, brought steady
in an angels breath swept
towards a straining line
and trashed all over
by whips and chains
salt and rains
but with all heavens
old bright stars!
I’ve never been so struck
as when you daringly walk
inside my old
dusty cabin of a heart

I fear to let you slip
through my akin hands
a share of water
a broken bread
might still fore fill
a lasting need
to hear you sing

I stand, though the fire
is burning out and the wind
will turn us about
and make us begin again
our straits are dire

and from far below a bellow
my mates and fellows
to a calling of your name
in an unending need
from a longing, lost within,
to rise and rise again

her voice is swift, well
known to be comforted
in all honesty, courage
do we care to make a will
scratched against the sill
or is it time to let go
of the heavy chain?

in the grip of a hand
lies fate, slumbering
awaiting the calling voice
to depart and raise again
the sails aloft
will bring the notes
to a loving heart
let the body sing
and trust our chart
to bring us safely home

where I will sleep
for unbroken eternity
amid stars alight
among the deepest
unknown waters
my soul align
a route to steer
a shoal to break into

she stands within port
the last wind blown
the hone gate awaiting
long lost souls atone
in the crowded halls of man
she endearingly holds court
bids us a final rest
or a final stand

Nej... Det påminner inte om Nathalie Portman...

... mer Cate Blanchett ur en stark 1600 tals film.

Fast, det är nog bara för att jag läser den. Rösten borde tillhöra en man.
Kanske... Joseph Fiennes, iklädd kärlekens våndor i filmen shakespeare in love.
