Our Cardboard Boy
Life was always hard for our boy of cardboard
Nothing is easy when your soft and fragile
His frail body torn and gored
His moods weak and all too agile
Water ran down his cheeks
Making his body fall apart
Like slow, sad falling creeks
To get dry, that was the start
But life is hard
When your are soft
And made of cardboard
So, no-one knows what is stored
For our litte boy of cardboard
His future may lie down the road
For there is all he ever owed
Down the rainy path he'll walk
Pass all but no-one will talk
For no-one notices a small boy
Made from cardboard like a toy
He starts to feel all ever felt
As his frail body starts to melt
Light
Light in the horizon shines
Filling out all the lines
There is still hope for our boy
He may yet prove not to be
Just a toy
