Sometimes others know us better than ourselves

And so you said to me
"You were such a pain in the ass, that I had to be horrible to you"

What does that tell me?
That it's my fault that you behaved like a monster to me?
That if only I had been different, then you wouldnät have had to do all those things to me?

I remember times when I saw pure hate in your eyes...
Those memories can not be shaken off - ever

And you said to me
"You were so difficult, and I was trying to help you, because I wanted what was best for you"

I realise there's a truth to that
I believe that you did the best you could
But it turned out, it wasn't the best for me

And so you said
"Well, it's because of your genes and there's somebody else here we can think of that is the cause of that"

Yeah, I'm wierd, because you thought my dad was too, I have owned his bad skills...

***

And then, one night, when I couldn't sleep, it all came rushing over me
I realised all the things you said, were about you
I realised, the reason why you scream when you're discussing, is because of your INTENSITY, the same intensity you have tried to tame within me for all theses years...

The same intensity, that you were applying on my father to be the reason why I am so messed up...

And the old saying goes again... Don't throw stones in a glass house.

It is all clear to me now...
You are who you've always been, maybe you have grown up a little, but you're still you...

I am very different though... I have changed all my bad behaviours and become a more calm person, although still intense, but not a pain in the ass anymore...
I realise I have gotten things from you, that you don't even want to see is from you, but that's okay...

I'm okay, because I know myself and I know you, and sometimes others knos us better than we know ourselves...
