beyond all that banging
the droning and wheezing of the train
on the rail:

MUSIQUE CONCRÈTE

a dragon fly winds the hot air
in a pleasant forest nowhere
in the midday glare,
like a whisper of a child
in a cease-fire,
as the train stands still,
crackling as all that steel
slowly cools,
waiting for the passage of
an on-coming freight train
