Once upon a Christmas Day - Engelsk

Once upon a starry night,
when the trees were full of Christmas lights,
The bells were ringing and people cheering,
everyone seemed filled with a jolly feeling.

There were choirs on the pavement, singing –
people dancing, wildly swinging.
children sledding without a fright
even though it was close to night

And as I stood amongst the cheering,
below the shimmering starry ceiling.
I became hypnotized by a falling flake,
slowly falling in its crystal shape.

Slowly falling as if time were none
Like life itself had yet to begun
It almost felt like years gone by
As I stood there waiting below the starry sky

I felt like a child with my tongue outstretched,
like a winter-painting, newly sketched
waiting on that falling flake,
to reach my tongue, in it its crystal shape.

But as the snowflake reached my tongue
And the clocks twelfth hour soundly rung
There was a ’ho-ho-ho’ in the distant sky
and a bright red sleigh, came flying by.

It flew right past us, high above
spreading curious feelings; like the one of love
It was surely strange, but in a magic way.
Once upon a Christmas Day.
