My existence is like the spring;

I spring into emotion
and extend my head
above the waters,
only to freeze come fall
and wither away into
a fog of nothingness.

But inhaling
the summer's warm breath
thaws the dead winter
enough to once again gasp
for something more
than a foggy memory.
