On the Barricade

oh they were so sad to see me leave

the barricade was filled with autumn leaves

they said i was the happy fighter on the outpost line

now i pass as a light....into another time

my brothers were covered in dirt and in mud

drinking whisky of rhye telling storys of me being a stud

While we laughed and cried in hard aching pain and misoury,

the  madsen, the Springfield  and the light came after me

So i ran to the field to cover my lover and friend

he fell from the shot and did he welcome the end?

The sound was squeeking and in a opened wound

i could se his heart beating from the tomb

And i said - dont worry my dear Well meet again

as i Held him in my arms till it stoped his pain

Now i did this many times through out the years

my friends they got fewer in the slit trench and i lost my tears

then on the final day, the last day of war

the people shouted - stop we cant do this nomore

so i went to the barricade as releived as i could be,

picked upp the little girl behind the fence in front of me

everything was going peacefylly and fine

them Walking whith their white little flags, Oh it was savior time

And  Oh her mother was waiting on the eger line

I turned around suddenly and stepped on a mine

well now the sun was rising in the bitter cold

someone whispered now its your time to go

Then another war came before me again again and again

this life is eternal and never the end
