Backafall lassie, the brig called Three Brothers

sails the Caribbean Sea on this night.

All while the land winds, so mild like no others,

blow by the island, a gentle delight.

Thick is the air, like a volley of essence,

but to let go of them all is not hard

if it would mean by the mallows my presence

all while the moon over Hven stands as guard.

Ellen, this summer I will still be sailing.

All of the North Sea I must push on through

but as you stand by the church, from the railing,

I will appear as a maybug to you

He, at your temple, will strike uninvited.

As you are waving your hands at this scourge,

he perhaps passes your blouse, so delighted,

all while the mallows in moonlight emerge.

From far away that small bug is exploring

if your two breasts become mallows in bloom

when I send thoughts, as the high seas are roaring,

here from my post by the brig's mizzen boom.

Soon I will sail under high shores with mallows,

and I will ask of you, lassie, my dear:

Salvage this captain at sea as she shallows,
