In the day’s calm passage
I gaze
through unfolding simultaneities,

all slot-times
gallantly silent

while body heat withdraws
through hypothetical distances
between the tall Bach speakers
at recovery’s foot-end;

the Goldberg fairies
glittering
above time’s dark troops
