I have been chosen as a cosmonaut,
humanity’s outpost, an astronaut.
Gazing out through the cupola’s glass, toward ... Earth,
the oasis of life.
:
I sit still in a chamber of silence.
The cupola’s glass, an eye upon all things.
Earth turns slowly in its blue-green light,
so whole, so alive, beyond all noise.
:
A mystery of life — a hum
in the vacuum's silent drum.
I look upon the Earth from this small spacecraft,
like a living being in an aquarium.?
:
Earth unfolds beneath me,
boundless, silent, endlessly beautiful.
Oceans melting into continents,
and clouds drifting over lands with no name.
:
No borders can be seen.
Everything looks so peaceful from here.
So still. So sacred. No borders. No names.
Only life, in an eternal dance.
:
I see more with the heart than with the eye,
and suddenly, everything feels tender and fragile.
:
A sense of awe fills the space between us.
We are witnesses to something greater than I can comprehend.
A reminder of the existence we all share,
so precious to every one of us survivors.
Our planet, a point in the darkness.
So treasured.
So fragile, so small.
A wondrous planet in the endless dark.
Life is a breath within a cosmic breeze,
existence drifting through the haze of space.
A whisper along eternity’s path,
a tangle in the thickets of the universe.
Life is a breath within a cosmic breeze,
existential in the haze of space.
A whisper along eternity’s path,
a tangle in the thickets of the universe.
