Mortality

In a garden by a tree
we find a child in you and me
but we kill it slow and mean
and then it dies with all our dreams.

Because everything is deadly here
Love and hate, even the air
So hold your breath and count the years
says the boy who hides his fears

But can you trust this mortal boy
who\'s mind is always fleeting
Can you trust this mortal boy
who\'s memories are deceiting?

Do not blame him or even try
Not his fault we all shall die

And he will run but he\'ll wait for you
his own feet will turn to glue

Because no-one stands it all alone
not even a full grown son.
