Someone asked me, long ago, how to see it.
How to find it, how to grab it, how to steal it.
I had no answers, \'cept this one; just try, just try.
In the time way back when, I could grasp it, hold it.
In the time way back I did steal it and made it mine.
In the time before now, before then, before yesterday.
I held it tight; caressed it hard and reveled in it.
For a time there wasn\'t anything else of interest.
\'til you asked me, \'til you questioned my world.
When you asked me how to see it I went blind.
When I told you to try you stole it from me.
And I was happy, for a while I was free.
I was glad, I wasn\'t mourning. I was satisfied.
\'cause you were happy I grew to accept.
And then you cried for the first time, you cried.
And you fell
and I exploded
\'cause I thought you were happy
and I was blinded.
