Once upon a time there was a little Princess.
She lived alone in a big castle
and
every night before she went to bed
she would make a wish:
Oh please let tomorrow be that day when I meet my true and only love
The years passed by...
One day when she was taking a walk in the great forest
the Princess met a frog
by the pond.
The frog gazed upon her with his big frog-eyes and then he said:
Lovely Princess if you lift me up and carry me home to your castle and let me sleep in your bed, eat from you plate and give me a kiss every day for the rest of this year I will become a strong and handsome Prince!
I will become your true and only love!
The Princess smiled and nodded her head.
She brought the frog back to her castle
where he slept in her bed,
ate from her plate
and
every day she would give him a kiss.
The last day of the year came
and the frog said to the Princess:
Before I can turn into the beautiful Prince that I really am you must bring me three things.
A horse, a sac of gold and your heart on a silver-plate
The Princess, who had become very fond of the little frog, did what he asked.
She brought him her finest horse,
gave him a big sac of gold
and
last but not least she cut out her heart and placed it on a silver-plate.
When she had done this the frog told her to pick him up
and put him on the horse
along with the gold and her heart.
The princess did this
and
as she placed her heart in the frog’s hands he turned to her,
smiled, winked his eye and whispered:
You have done everything that I’ve asked you for,
in hope to see me turn into your only true love…
You’re so stupid! So long sucker!
And then he rode away from the Princess and her castle without ever looking back.
