Times change and winters pass. The feelings remain, the story's the same.
The Raven In White
Mid winter forest at night
and Raven all covered in snow.
(Shrouds at the cold.)
-Soothing flakes fall
on trees that stand tall-
What a sight to behold.
A stray dove asks him for help
and the Raven soon falls in love.
(Disguised in the snow.)
The dove blushed
and the Raven tried to speak, but hushed.
She kissed him on the brow.
But with the kiss the snow fell off
and the dove saw the Raven without the snow.
Farewell, dear Raven, good bye;
The dove sailed towards the sky.
(Leaving the Raven behind.)
The Raven turned his eye
to the flakes that passed him by
- How life-like. (Thought his morbid mind.)
Blame doves or fates cruel ways?
Only memories of what he once played.
(Sorrows just clad.)
Mid winter forest at night.
A swansong from a Raven in white,
dying for the heart he never had.
