Mad World

There once was a man
who lived high up in a tree
He lived as far up as you can
so he the world could see

Far removed from any city
so that he could be free
He looked down on man with pity
for they could never be

He hadn't always been mad,
once he was quite sane.
The corruption of man was just so bad,
he fled and gave up his name.

One night he had a dream,
a vision so clear and bright.
It woke him up with a scream,
and kept him up all night.

A vision filled with terror,
but also with the promise of bliss.
If only he could correct the error,
and save mankind from the abyss.

The terror lived in the heart of man,
filled with endless greed.
So he devised in his tree a secret plan,
to plant his own seed.

This seed he hoped to grow,
inside man's heart of stone.
Praying he could still show,
that happiness isn't what you own.
