Social ångest och rädslan för ord

Why can't I keep my mouth shut?

Why can't I keep my mouth shut?
So I won't be so exposed.
Everything I say is like the scream of hundreds of crows —
Haunting and chilling,
Every word seems to be drilling.
Cringe-inducing — like a curse,
It sparks a twinge of feelings dark and worse.

I wish you could stitch my mouth shut
or at least keep my voice cut-
With wires cold and sharp so my lips won’t come loose.
Even if they did, my mouth would be beyond repair,
no words, just limited air.

Hopefully people wouldn't find me annoying or plain.
Hopefully they won't feel any pain
From seeing my ruined mouth and pained eyes,
Or my suffocated cries,
And the emotions that slowly die.
Hopefully they will buy my lie.

I will just say it's for the best.
You will find my silence blessed,
and your ears will now rest
from my Words and voice-
At last, your cause for rejoice.
