Another night
Last night we talked on the telephone
You asked me when I will come home
I'm gonna stay for another night
I won't be in anyone's sight
The coffee's cooling
The days are dark
Somewhere luring
you left a mark
in letters and kisses
clothes and shoes
With food and dishes
I have little to lose
I might have crossed the line once or twice
like acting bad when you just treat me nice
The sound of your cries could keep me up at night
They come and then go and every time they smite
This morning I dreamt I was on a plane
I woke up looking wild and pale
Taking a walk on my hometown streets
where my younger self and a girl would meet
A room is empty
I left her there
Now she's twenty
and who knows where
She picked me up when
I was alone
through a wi-fi
with her phone
I might have crossed the line once or twice
I never signed, but she was more than nice
The thought of her cries could keep me up at night
They may be gone, but even so they smite
