Today, I honor the Apollo-project that fifty years ago
brought human beings to the Moon; an outstanding
achievement by NASA and the United States.
Also, by the collective efforts of Mankind and its
ingenuous, creative and inquiring mind that,
through the centuries, effortlessly built the
structures of knowledge that made the Apollo-
project and all other scientific and technical
achievements of today possible.

An achievement of mabye even greater long-
term importance than the actual landing, was
beautifully said in clear and distinct words by,
Bill Anders, one of the astronauts on Apollo 8,
the first mission of the project with the objective
to reach, fly around and explore the ground of the
Moon: "We came all this way to explore the Moon,
and the most important thing is that we discovered
the Earth."
The discovery, or re-discovery, of the most beautiful
and wonderful star of the universe, the Earth,
our Home.
