What ever I am is on hold
Twenty-four hours a day is too much
It's a combination of having a cold
and maybe of old age as such

Under the shadow of Covid 19,
common colds, when they hit, they hit mean!
Besides, I'm no longer a teen...
That's why this cold is the worst one I've seen

My voice is a growl at best,
I avoid using it to talk
Language is laid to rest
I shut up, hold back any joke

Exercise feels just like a dream;
skis, bikes and roller: A sleeping team!
I sit back, read a book and shut up,
sipping Rooibos tea, cup on cup
