Fox News has cut comments made by former US President Donald Trump in which he said he would consider ceding parts of Ukraine to Russia in order to establish peace between the two countries. In an interview for the radio show of Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on Monday, which is not broadcast by the network, Donald Trump revealed how he tried to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine last year after the invasion.

The former US president, who is determined to run again in 2024, said he would have ended the war quickly. During the interview, he boasted that Russia would not have dared to launch an attack during his presidency, adding: I could have negotiated. In the worst case, I could have made a deal for Russia to take something, there are certain areas where Russian is spoken, frankly, but I could have made a deal."

A journalist from The Daily Beast later published material stating that when Hannity played excerpts of the interview with Trump later on his Fox News show, he cut out the part where the former president suggested that he might have was negotiating for Russia to get certain parts of Ukraine.

The station told Insider that Trump's remarks were part of a 22-minute radio interview on a separate platform that was edited down to a 2-minute clip as part of the usual editorial process.
