my first impulse

was to kiss her boots

i've never had that impulse before

i can' t predict just how quick i would shoot

or if i'd have the power for some more

my second impulse

was to look more close

but that is not a safe thing to do

i might end up in

some trouble with the law

and that could cost a fortune too

my third impulse

was to give it a rest

i think that's the impulse

that i like the best

the reptile brain

can drive a man half insane

it's like a needle

to the junkie's vein

a steamy walk

down sleazy street

it tastes like salt

but the smell is sweet

the restless eyes

the nervous chicks

just like a junkie

who needs his fix
