In a small country town, not far from the sea
Someone raised a stone by the old willow tree
Standing alone in a calm forest glade
A mournful farewell to a fair young maid
In the heart of the forest they met in the night
In the moon's pale light their love took its flight
Two souls entwined in a secret affair
But a cruel twist of fate, was too much to bear
She walks these woods in a long black veil
Visits the stone when the night winds wail
Nobody knows, nobody sees
Nobody knows but she.
There's not much to say, when the end is near
She stands there alone, and sheds not a tear
But sometimes at night, when the cold winds blow
He comes to her side, and the tears will flow.
She walks these woods in a long black veil
Visits the stone when the night winds wail
Nobody knows, nobody sees
Nobody knows but she.
