Book-Conflicts Man vs. man, Man vs. himself, Man vs. society
Books shall include conflict, where there is Man vs. man, Man vs. himself, or Man vs. society. I remember thinking, why does a book need a conflict? Perhaps there is other suitable literary category for writing without a conflict – for example poetry. I didn’t learn much in school. Well I went 3 years university, but didn’t major in anything. This lesson in the title appealed to me as young. And to think modern-day, I may be bashing everyone all the time, but who really engages in a righteous dispute Man vs. man, a righteous dispute Man vs. himself, or a righteous dispute Man vs. society? Not many… at all. I like to be self-righteous. Self-righteous is a virtue. And hard to keep. Also along book matters, I was taught that there had to be a protagonist and antagonist, a setting – which means when and where, events, climax, denouement. These things I learned about writing a book in American school and the year could have been about 1991. I have no children of my own, so I don’t know how American students are taught about writing books nowadays, if they even are taught that. But that was an early lesson that stuck… Man vs. man, Man vs. himself, or Man vs. society. Now everyone just kind of rolls along with the internet… and well that was a look at, American, book writing.
