This is something I will print out to myself. I print out a lot of material to myself.

I attended for two complete years The University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.

Around 1997 – 1999.

About a 3-hour drive south of Chicago, you will make it to Champaign, Illinois.

The three concerts in 1997, and I believe in this order, were, PHISH, WIDESPREAD PANIC, ZIGGY MARLEY.

Yes, I was, a common thing in USA, high on marijuana for all three shows.
The first two I attended with my then-friend griffin.
The last I attended with my friend jason.

So this is a huge university. I believe in terms of population, only second to Penn State.

We are talking around 40.000 undergraduate students.

I came in to study chemistry, but never majored in it after my 2 years, and the chemistry of THC with Phish, Widespread Panic, Ziggy Marley sat nicely.

I am going to take a pause, as I have hardly slept for 5 days. I am writing this review for myself, as much, as anyone who may be reading it.

Let’s just break it down.

----Phish

--some guy was tripping on acid, he looked all freaked out, I and griffin felt sorry for him.

--half the show, no kidding, was the lighting, how they time every bit of sound is mind-boggling.

--on Makisupa Policeman, everyone went nuts, when Trey said, ‘’Woke up this morning,… stink kind’’.

--the show was at Assembly Hall which looks like a spaceship, I believe they have re-named the place now.

--hmm it was fantastic, mind-blowing, the great thing about Phish (as they intertwine songs) you know it is good when you don’t know which song they are on.

--as is the mention for Phish, and do by means try to make it if they make it to Europe, again, ‘’expect the unexpected’’.

----Widespread Panic

--I had eye contact with the bassist David Schools for about 30 minutes, super-intense.

--I believe they played ‘’Pigeons’’, at any rate, the lyrics are ‘’we have all been waiting, wondering, will we every know the truth’’ … ‘’what it’s like washing windows when you know there are pigeons on the roof’’. Stoners-paradise. If you are philosophic-inclined, weed will likely enhance it. There is some ‘’drug lush behavior’’ in this artwork, as well as much of my artwork, but hey, that is what this is.

--Ok, all of a sudden they bust in to ‘’No sugar tonight in my coffee, No sugar tonight in my tea’’ by the Guess Who, and it was… mind-blowing.

--After the show griffin and I were hacky-sacking by the back door. It was the Virginia Theatre in Champaign. And the guys come out the door. JOHN BELL THE LEAD SINGER IN WIDESPREAD PANIC, ASKS US, ARE YOU COMING WITH < LOCATION / THOUGHT HE SAID CINCINNATI > ? I SAY ‘’I GOT SCHOOL’’. AND JOHN BELL SAYS TO ME ‘’I NEVER CARED TOO MUCH ABOUT SCHOOL’’. THAT IS MY, AS THEY PHRASE IT, 15 MINUTES OF FAME – TALKING WITH LEAD SINGER IN WIDESPREAD PANIC JOHN BELL.

--Well we played frisbee golf before the show. I, griffin, and hemmie. It was fantastic.

----Ziggy Marley

--It would be a hit-or-miss thing. Everybody knew it. At least I knew it. Either very-good or very-bad.

--It turns out it was very good.

--The only thought afterwards was that it had been perfect at a beach, instead of the seats (everyone stood) of the University of Illinois auditorium.

--Don’t remember much but they rocked it like a reggae concert, indeed. Dreadlocks on Ziggy Marley, Bob Marley’s son.
