As we came an early summer strange
through the dawn almost all the way
to the desolated circus
from the camera where my filming was yanked
and against the reality of the sun now played

the white acrobats of our gaze
how they now climb across the concentred stage
in the resurrected theatre
amongst marble and crushed stone in quest
of your torn tightrope dress

in through the grassgulped rosebrushed hidden audience
you who thought she had performed her last play
look now you crawl yet another piece of nature
until the magician her fragments in a dance have raised
and as if the rainbow had come our laughter's of the sun
