Her breath sunders reality
and wishes my body whole
again

I tremble so fiercely when
she touches boundaries
not yet made obsolete

she carries the weight
of foundries and deep water keels
of mountains and glaciers
spiraling nebulas and stars

she sings like rainforests
an animal filled pure
with lust and ecstasy

she exclaims her longing
with lungs depleted of air
in just a scream of departing

I remember the scent of her hair

so well

I recall her words
shimmering against her skin
the sighs and tremble of lips
departed of courage and fire
from within

a desire that tears
our souls together
whilst bodies are left
abandoned again

a song resounds
once more

to linger a while
inside

your eyes
may cause me
to neglect

the shadows assemble
to our dance
a culminating crescendo

we play each other
a requiem for peace
like a passion unfolding

in thrust and spear
with arrow and sword
a battle is fought

each breath
we stumble across
a field
so torn and ready

the loss of blood
is not so easy
to evade

a smashed fortress
flowing freely
as the river turns ugly

but we never let go
of each other
we tear apart

that which
will never last
