An Abandoned House
I feel like an abandoned house
With all the stuff left inside
There's a clock stuck in time
Old chipped plates in a cabinet
A dusty chair
No one sits on anymore
And a jacket not to be worn
There's a book with its pages
Covered in mold
A cup with its edges
Painted in gold
I hold
A bundle of keys
With no locks to open
It all tells a story
Not to be spoken
My roof it leaks when it rain
The wall hold pictures in frames
On fading faces
That long lost their name
I'm an abandoned house
Fading away
I'm an abandoned house
Left to decay
Inside I keep a memory of life
Left behind
I'm an abandoned house
Once dreams about future
Were dreamed in the bed
Drawn up at the table
While sharing some bread
One day their feet
For the last time
Squeaked the floorboard
Closed the door behind
To forever be gone
No one to shine
A light on this house
And make it a home
Now I'm all alone
All grown over
With bushes and trees
Right through my wall
Runs the breeze
I host no guest
Exept a little bird
And its nest
Through an old broken window
I look out to the world
I'm just a part of the landscape
A piece of nature
To untame
