Indulgence

Rain falling outside my window

a curtain of crystals streaming down,

the luxurious feel of a silk dress against my skin,

an empty abandoned wineglass knocked over on the table.

The rasp of a steel tipped pen on a thick parchment page,

a single blood red rose standing in a narrow vase.

A pair of glorious green eyes regarding me from a photograph,

the memory of a whispered word in the night, \"mi amore\".

The full, rich, bitter taste of dark chocolate paired with a deep red wine,

scent of lilies after a brief spring shower

or the sensuous caress of a well played violin.

The simple pleasures in life, soothing your senses.
