Lyrics to a wonderful little thing I've got in my head since the days of the bridge.

Shoreline Dreams

We were standing on the shoreline
waiting for a moment to arrive
the first light or at least
another quiet dream
of any other kind

Behind smokescreens made from long lost love
and burning cigarettes
the joker who spoke slyly of your dreams
is stealing the night away unseen

So there we were, both of us lost
deep inside the miracle we'd made
chasing the first light over the thinnest ice
madly daring everything to break

We saw an angel flying around, but he had broken wings
and everything inside him was turning stone
The morning light was only still a little whispering
we had to escape the darkness on our own

Before it had seemed as if a thief had come along
and stolen all the colors and every word to every song
Now it was as if we found a way to live where we could do no wrong
and a little happy lake in the noonday sun felt like home
