The space ride

Yes, it was truly a sunny sunshine weather over the space rocket station Fairytale Country when Lasse looked out through the window in the tutoring room. He, and some other fellows around the world, had been selected to go out on a special international assignment that would take it place outside this grey boring tutor room they now all had been sitting in during the last 50 hours. First, directly after their arrival, they had been told to try an enormously heavy outfit. White overall, big helmet and then, on the bottom of everything, big iron shoes that was almost impossible to move. After they had tried all these strange clothes it had been time for medical examination. A thoroughly examination there the doctor not missed a spot of each ones body. Ok. The dentist seemed to have his minds elsewhere when examined Lasse as he was talking about golf the whole time he was checking his teeth...

The hours became to days that then turned into weeks when suddenly Lasse and his fellow mates became told to start to start the project and enter the space rocket that had been standing outside the building the whole time they had been locked in school building.
The Fairytale Country area was now filled with people. TV-journalists, radio people, curious students, single parents, pensioners. Yes, more or less all kinds of people where there waving and cheering Captain Lucia and her crew that now were going to explore the land nobody ever before had explored. All this attention made Lasse excited and hungry. To be honest he had no lust of being on a space mission for months without proper food, sweets and, most important, cold refreshment drinks. He therefore excused himself before they left the building and went into the gentlemen's room for doing his needs on Earth one last time before the adventure would begin.
Captain Lucia was more or less furious when she saw that the foolish idiot from Sweden was missing. Doing the human needs should not take longer than 3-4 minutes and as the rest of her crew was on place without any kinds of problems she found it extremely difficult to forgive such ignorance this crew mate showed by his absence. 10 minutes before count down the robot voice from the loud speaker system announced.
Lasse had in his turn sneaked out through a window in the gentlemen's room for then stopping the first car he saw requesting the driver (an Italian paparazzo) to take him to a nearby candy store he had seen before they had arrived to the base. The paparazzi had been extremely happy and excited for this request as he now could get more or less free access of photographing one of the members in this international and historical event.

Not until 2 minutes before count down Lasse entered the rocket carrying a banana leaf filled with candy and sweets from all over the world. Although Captain Lucia was so furious so she just wanted to have kicked Lasse out from the rocket immediately with all the things he brought she realized that was impossible. After all it could lead to international complications since the Swedish tax payers had sponsored this project too. So quickly as a little humble bee she instead grabbed Lasse's right arm and they both ran into the rocket kitchen where they began to unload all the candy into a store room. Suddenly the count down began… 10, 9, 8...
Yes, Lasse's head was really aching when he woke up on the bed he was laying on. Slowly, with his hands over the forehead he placed his feet on the floor turning his head around for looking out through a window. A complete darkness except for a gigantic football was outside the window together with a lots of small lighting dots met his eyes. He was so surprised of what he saw so he did not hear anything until a certain captain said:"Hmm, that is Earth my friend…" "Feeling better now?"
Afterwards, when Lasse had been introduced for his assignment - peeling potatoes in the kitchen's store room, the captain told him that they, the crew, had discovered him unconscious in the kitchen after the take off. It seems that he had, instead as running to the starting position as the captain did, remained in the kitchen for then, in the turbulence that was attached with the take off falling down on the fry pan. Due to all the circumstances (and Lasse's strange desire for eating) captain Lucia and the rest of the crew thought it was best that he, Lasse, just took care about the potatoes during the journey.
After several of months (and millions of potatoes later) it was time to celebrate Lasse's birthday. As he really had tried to improve himself and done a good work with the potatoes the captain and the rest of the crew wanted to surprise him with a little birthday party.
The birthday party was very nice. Captain Lucia was playing on her acoustic guitar while they all sang songs from just their countries. Burning candles were giving the light in the otherwise temporarily dark rocket. Yes, captain Lucia was very happy and proud of being one of the first persons in the world that would be able to explore the outer space of the galaxy. Suddenly, when they had as most fun, the window above Lasse's bed exploded due to an meteorite stone. Without thinking Lasse screamed "My cartoon magazine" and ran away on a rescue expedition.
The Puerto Rican member of the crew, the former opera singer, Ms. Princess, had been assigned to guard the rocket when the other celebrated her Swedish colleague's birthday. Although it is never funny to work while everyone's is having a nice time off she was very excited and proud of being selected for this important task.
As the meteorite stone that had gone through Lasse's window had been so small (just a tiny piece from a bigger meteorite stone) the equipment she, Ms. Princess, was watching had not indicated anything that was not normal on the screen. A bit chocked over the explosion she almost immediately pressed the button that was sealing off damaged areas of the rocket. As an extra insurance the area that was damaged would be sent off away from the main body of the rocket too. In this way they could then land and build a new section of the rocket pretty easily.
That Lasse had ran into the damaged area for rescuing his cartoon magazine she, Ms. Princess, had no idea about when she pressed the button. At Earth the control crew that followed the ship constantly 24 hours a day became furious. A little meteorite stone had jeopardized the whole project so seriously so they now wondered if the damaged ship ever could return back to Earth again. One of their members, this Swedish member, had followed the damaged part of the ship out in the unknown dark space beyond any kinds of rescuing operation. Needless to say that everyone felt panic in the control tower.
However, it was not the first time Captain Lucia had been in real dangerous situations. When she saw that Lasse had been followed there the damaged part of the ship they now had separated her first concern went to make sure of that they all other could land somewhere safely for repairing the rocket. After some calculations she understood that they where pretty close to the planet Mars. Perhaps that was a planet they could land on.
Thanks to the fact that Lasse's cartoon had covered the hole in the window there was enough air in the section Lasse now got himself trapped into so he could put on his space helmet and breath properly. Running back and forward in the wreck while he was screaming "Help! Come back to me! I do not want to be here alone." Lasse then became so tired so he just sat down on the floor. While he was sitting there he saw a light growing far, far away. What was that light? As it also became warmer Lasse assumed it must have been the sun the wreck now was approaching pretty fast. I knew I should have taken my sun glasses with me he thought while he sat down more comfortable watching the sun playing its artificial melody.
Lasse, Lasse, Lasse wake up. I know that you must tired after your long flight to my country but you have been sleeping for two days now. Lasse looked up into some beautiful eyes and with tired voice he then begin to describe his dream…. His pen friend Lucia giggled when Lasse had completed the story about him going in rocket wreck into the sun and how the rest of the space crew had been forced to land on planet Mars for there waiting on a rescuing team from Earth. Oh you Silly Billy, said Lucia finally… She smiled and asked him to join her out on the balcony for a true lesson about space and stars. Still a bit tired Lasse followed her and got a super-duper lovely lesson with a lot of stars shining that night.
