we made so many mistakes

in retrospect

we were the icing on the cakes

there's more to it

than just the safety pins and chains

a mighty force

resided in our hearts and brains

in retrospect

we made an impact on this place

in retrospect

i guess we speeded up the pace

the past is gone

but maybe we could carry on

'cause there is still

a lot of battles to be won

i have a dream

it's vibrant and refused to die

a lot of steam

has to be let out in the sky

i wrote this song

inspired by the present scene

i never ceased being a teen
