their skin to never look at what
is in a person within.

all I am to you, never interested
in listening to my other point of view
It is "our" side I see using my blackness
like checkmate in every single debate
shielding yourselves from critique call it hate
slowly starting to become what you do not tolerate

Funny how you never see your behavior
always trying to be a damn white savior
I say my words and stand corrected
that I will not be a forever, victim,
makes me feel disrespected.

My ancestor did not fight to set me free
so you can label what is convenient for you
in today's society, stop using my identity
to virtue signal that you have great dignity 
stop using my skin, and start looking within

It is challenging to be progressive
witnessing people evolve into
what they hate is so depressive
watching them scream for peace
while being extremely aggressive
dialogues turn into whatabutsim
and if someone disagrees just
throw in there another ”ism”

the only label you use when you talk
of me, never mind that I see myself as free
allow me to define my own identity
a woman with a strong mentality that
does belong to the world and
it belongs to me too.
