Like a childs happy laughter, gone unheard
Or an unwritten text we never prepared
Like a silent moment in the midst of the crowd
Or the unsaid "well done" that made us so proud

That is the silence of the heart

Like the death of a loved one, so hard to believe
Or the absence of tears for those whom we grieve
Like the poets dancing pen, it's magic denied
Or the loss our friendship, when our feelings defied

That is the silence of the heart

Like a family that's grown up through the years
Sharing our dreams, our hopes and our fears
In words of poetry, we spoke from the heart
Till the deeds of another forced us to part
