WILDCAT BLUES

i dated your mother once

but i didn't get lucky

it was south of new york

but north of kentucky

they called her the wildcat

she was whipped cream and wine

i was too optimistic

when i thought she would be mine

well, this is the wild cat blues, kitten

a song i wrote for your mum

but why should you care at all?

why would you talk to a bum?

i tried your big sister then

she told me i was sick

all my rock'n'roll clichés

didn't do the trick

so here i am now, sweetie

sitting here with you

old enough to be your father

and your grand dad too

well, little girlie

this is the wildcat blues

most men are too dishonest

to walk a mile in my shoes

Wow så skön, störtskön!
Vilken stil- det gungar så mysigt!
Verkligen en riktig blues,
där man får plussa på
och dra av,
trots att det känns äkta.
