my shoulder and say that

I wish we would cuddle up
in the couch, in a big blanket
and you would hold me forever,
or just until I felt safe.

We would talk and I would
open my heart up, spill the
ink across the pages and tell
you the novels of my life.

But you fall asleep before my
wet cheek touch your chest,
out cold from the world,
oblivious to my broken dreams.
