by Peter Morning and Louis Marshall Gould - Lefty the manager and the apache kid

Dry, dry, dry Love

I wandered through meadows and woods
Couldn't find you with with that bonny hood
a cape with magic lace

Just in case I travelled far away
I was there, and one time too many I did retire
Getting nowhere chasing skirts I like
that's for sure

I looked beyond yonder
Some things can't be picked up and replaced
but sometimes I've got to wonder

I like my martinis dry
but when it comes to love I cannot lie
Some call me a liar
but sincerely my love for you won't expire

I once felt your lipstick on my cheek
Whoever sold that to you knew what was meant to be
I admire that
such memories I will require

anyway

I prefer the flowers in the field
not in the vase
