For how peculiar it should turn out to be
A girl with no shadow approaching me
Place her hand in mine and say
'Do not be scared, do not run away'
She spoke soft words, light as the dawn
She smiled at me before continuing on
'For I might have no shadow and no worthly name,
but for all your darkness, I will never cast blame'
Stunned by this girl with an angels grace
I had to reach out to touch her face
'No fear in me lives when your cheeks turn red,
this must be a dream, I'm still in my bed'
She giggled with joy, or was it not so
'Don't think too much dear, embrace this earthly flow'
She reached up and placed her lips upon mine
Who could this be, this creature so fine
She looked kindly at me, right in to my soul
And took from my pocket a big rock of coal
'I lift the suffering' she whispered in my ear
'Now and forever, live with no fear'
The girl with no shadow I will never forget
With the blessing she brought, it was God I had met.
