According to a majority of climate scientists, the global
climate systems are dangerously close to a collapse,
a "tipping-point"; som argue that it´s already a fact.
The views differ on the magnitude and the character
of it, and how close in time we are to see it materialize.
Exactly what disruptions of the highly complicated and
sophisticated global weather systems that would
trigger the actual collapse, is also a question of debate.
The Paris Climate Conference (COP21), can be said
to have the assumtion as one of its cornerstones.

But there is also another "tipping point", one that is
already well under way, and that goes parallell to
the first one; and as so often when paradigmatic shifts
do occur, we who live in the "eye of the hurricane",
tend not to see the"wood for all the trees".
I am referring to the fact that the public consciousness
on global warming, and other threats to the environment, has seen a damatic rise in the last five to ten years; a change that is gathering momentum worldwide.

Being a shift that is especially significant among
younger people, it brings a promise that may set a base
for political and economic decisions, implementing,
not only technical solutions and practises, that to quite
an extent is already at hand, but mabye as important,
becomes a practical guide in everyday life for people
all over the world. If so, we might have a fair chance
to counter the point first mentioned; the one that
might tip the climate, and which the second is
a hopeful reflection of; after all, the first one is also
a creation of our minds.
