A poem from my book My Own Poems of Life
Immortality
I think most people do want immortality
Although at what cost
Another question is how to get it
Living forever might not be for everybody
People will live longer as time passes by
Before people didn't live near as long as we do now
One way is to make one an AI
An Artificial Intelligence that is
That way you will live forever
There is no way to imagine how that will be though
Before one does it for one self
Becoming a robot practically that can think for oneself
It's a thrilling thought
But for right now
We don't have the technology for it
Right now that I know of
But some time in the future we will
In the near future
It's staggering how much data that need to be processed
For it to work
We should just be happy for now to just get older
And older as time goes by
If most of us becomes robots in the future
We can stop having more people on this planet
Practically saving this planet by extension
Before we are to many
So the planet won't die alongside us
Ending all life on earth
Beginning the era of the robots
I don't think anybody can see how that would be
What that would look like
I think that we would live alongside the robots though
As the human kind so we won't get extinct in any case
As the human kind we have a habbit of just
Moving to another area after one is full
We need to be careful how we treat the future
What we are going to do
What we need to do so that the future can work for us
Not against us
There is no telling what the future has in store for us
Really
