The book of life

is already on my shelf.

It is wonderful to belong

to no one but myself

from the book of life,

I have acquired the wisdom

that happiness is fleeting

but so is pain, appreciate when

life grants you sunshine, learn how

to glow in the rain and darling

if you happened to miss the bus

you can always ...catch the train

concerning love, I have learned

to embrace it with open arms, rejoice

the magic of merging with another soul

yet having the awareness that, it is not

the "other” who is making me whole…

It is delightful it to swing to the rhythm

of two heartbeats transformed into one…

yet the music inside my soul remains once

the other is gone…for darling I have mastered

whereby to dance alone

And perhaps the greatest lesson I have learned above all

is to plant seeds, cultivate a garden instead of building a wall

The wisdom I need is the one inside myself “Maktub” it was written

that the book of life could always be found on top of my shelf.
