Poetry is just a lie
a lie based on words
to frightening to be said
out loud

but maybe
just maybe
poetry is closer
to the truth
than nothing at all

and maybe
if I dare to write those words
someday I\'ll have the guts to say them
and they will be true
the moment they escape my lips

and maybe
this

this is better
than nothing at all
