In the absence of pen and paper

In the absence of pen and paper

I reach in

Underneath the lowest ribs

And take out a kidney.

Wrapping it in a piece of skin

Peeled from the inside of my arm

I place it in the middle of the living room carpet,

Like a cat leaving a bird for it´s master.

Not content with this sacrifice

I press my fingers to either side

And remove one of my eyes.

Carefully clipping the thick optical nerve

With my finest scissors.

Despite my recent loss of depth perception

I place this token also on the floor.

After a fairly short time

I have an impressive array of organs

Lined up in plain view

For your approval.

But approval does not come,

Instead a letter from your solicitor.

It says, “ We know that somewhere you have a soul.

Find it,

Leave it,

And would the last one out please turn out the lights.

Uppoffrande, fan det kallas nog kärlek,
karva ut vartenda organ, lägga upp,
bjuda ut allt till den älskade
leta efter själen,
Enda texten i sitt slag.
Jovisst hoppar jag nu igen.
