It's christmas... in theory...
snowy and cold... figuratively...
Santa's watching... metaphorically...

it's a cozy time of the year...
happiness and good time had by all

but it's not though... not really
it's just a normal now
like so many others

and I hope you're happy
I really do... truthfully
cozy and snugly wrapped in blanket
in the arms of another
or just near someone you like

it certainly could be beautiful
cause, you know... there's little else to do...

I just wish it wasn't so much of a "have-to"
there's no choice here... not anymore...
happy or sad... that's all you get...

depression or complacence...

it's all the same... just very different...
