Fate, inevitability and destiny,
all play their part of life's mystery.
Can I change my fate,
or am I stuck in an on-rail life?

Is it all a roller-coaster,
where you just take your place and sit down,
get your seatbelts tightened,
and enjoy your ride?

Or is it a ship that I have to steer,
because then I need some help,
who decided I should be captain,
I, who so easily get seasick.

Either way the speed is never right,
it is alway either too fast or too slow,
when you want to enjoy the view it's too fast,
and when you want to get on with it it's too slow.

I think I want to take the control,
as a novice and learn by my self,
if I hit some rocks I'll learn from the mistakes,
if I don't I'll enjoy the view.
