Tell-tale syndrom

So they stuffed it down your throat
when the world will end, you'll get that boat
save your life - but the dead don't float
Hope won't bring you that golden goat

Make it wood, it'll sink like stone
All for one to be left alone
Sell your soul on the telephone
Ever feel like that filthy clone?

Oh you did what you thought was right?
make-believes, so you could sleep at night
comfort by tell-tales, you held them tight
clouded your senses to numb the fight

Take your costume to the parade
All the clowns they got enslaved
Fined me a price I gladly paid
for the difference that I made

Praise the Lord and a goat of gold
The book of fire will eventually mould
Soul reborn - now THAT'S a bit old
Still believe the stories they told?

Oh you did what you thought was right
make-believes, you could sleep at night
comfort by tell-tales, you held them tight
clouded your senses to numb the fight

I found God when I got to jail
I picked a religion that was on sale
All I do is follow a tail
and praise that my goodness will prevail

Blame yourself for ignorance
when you fell for the insurence
not even through self-defence
will you avoid the final silence

Oh you did what you thought was right
make-believes, can could sleep at night
comfort by tell-tales, squeeze them tight
you will vanish, The Darkened Light

Praise the Lord and a goat of gold
the candle burning has grown old
your soul is reborn and then; it's sold
that's the story - now it's told
