A love story. And a question. Is there really only one person that can play to the rythm of your heart?

The drummer boy

There was a girl, a lovely one
Who liked to play, and sing and run

When she was nine she got a toy
It was a little drummer boy

The colour of his hat was blue
His vest was red with trousers too

There was a key to make him play
She wound him up most every day

His tune was simple, and just one
She thought it was so nice and fun

The key went smoothly in his chest
Of all her toys she liked him best

And even if he was just metal scrap
He played the rythm of his heart: tap, tap

One day the girl let him just lie
He never found the reason why

He didnt know that she was ill
And went to heaven, pale and still

The key was buried in the ground
And never seen, and never found

Noone could wind him up since then
He never played his tune again

His arms were lifted as in pray
Where is my girl, why wont she play?

Where is her happy smile, her joy?
I couldnt know, Im just a drummer boy

there might be more than one key, as well as differences in how one is playing the rhythm of one's heart -
tap, tap may be soft or strong, and actually there is the musical key as well as the one you wind up with
a very good question, you made me think for a second or two
