The Tide of Life

If your life was a beach,
a long white stripe of land
stretching to the horizon,
how long would you walk
before it gets bored?

Sure, there\'s seagulls,
icecream paper
and broken sunchairs,
but it\'s not real at all.
Just a white stripe of land.

Sometimes on your long walk,
you end up lying in the sand
just wondering:
when will the tide grab me
and take me away?

But the sun won\'t let you,
neither will the moon.
They just stare at you,
and they will always win;
they just can\'t blink.

I want my beach
to end with a cliff,
and it probably will.
The only thing you do in life
is to climb, higher and higher.
The higher you get, the harder you\'ll fall.

Right now, I\'m lying on the beach,
staring at the moon,
and I really hope
that the tide won\'t take so long this time.

I like the way the sun and the moon just stare... We have a lot to learn from that: anything goes! Whatever happens in your life, the possibility to keep on walking is always there, even if you have to do it like a robot from time to time.

The higher you get, the harder you\'ll fall.

Marvellous and true.
