without tears in my eyes,
without my voice cracking,
without my lip trembling
and my jaw clenched
to stop it.

What could I have done
without you brushing me off,
whitout you hyperventilating
without you crying,
without you looking out the window,
without you taking deep breaths
and cleching your jaw,
to stop it.



I tried a spell of asking forgiveness
I tried a spell of holding hands
I tried a spell of careful talking,
I tried a spell of leaving alone

And I tried the spell of the three magic words.



But none of them worked did they?


I didn\'t do more than that
and still you brushed me off,
and still you hyperventilated,
and still you cried,
and still you looked out the window,
and still you took deep breaths,
and clenched your jaw















to stop the dark spell of sorrow from entering your heart.
